Description

A peer-reviewed open-access journal publishing original research, review articles, and analytical studies across law and governance. KJLG provides a rigorous scholarly platform for legal academics, practitioners, policymakers, and governance professionals to advance knowledge in legal theory, regulatory frameworks, and the rule of law, with particular attention to the legal challenges emerging from rapid technological change, globalisation, and evolving governance systems in developing and emerging economies.

Aims and Scope

KJLG welcomes original research articles, review papers, case studies, doctrinal analyses, and short communications spanning all areas of law and governance. Subject areas include constitutional and administrative law, commercial and corporate law, contract and tort law, international law and international humanitarian law, human rights law and social justice, environmental and climate change law, natural resource and energy law, technology law and cyberlaw, intellectual property and innovation law, data protection and privacy law, regulatory frameworks and compliance, financial and banking law, labour and employment law, criminal law and justice, alternative dispute resolution and arbitration, legal aspects of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, e-governance and digital public administration, anti-corruption and accountability frameworks, public procurement law, comparative law, and legal pluralism in African and developing world contexts. The journal is particularly interested in interdisciplinary research that bridges legal scholarship with governance, economics, technology, and social policy. Studies that examine the adequacy of existing legal frameworks in addressing contemporary challenges — including cybercrime, platform regulation, climate litigation, corporate accountability, and the governance of emerging technologies — are strongly encouraged. Research that engages with African legal systems, customary law, regional integration frameworks, and legal dimensions of sustainable development is especially welcomed. Both theoretical jurisprudential contributions and applied legal research with direct relevance to policy, regulation, and institutional reform are within scope.
